Event Marketing Specialist

Position Description:

The Event Marketing Specialist II is responsible for creating a level of excitement for the DataServ solutions by planning, organizing, promoting, overseeing and attending corporate or private events, trade shows, conferences, and/or marketing events. This position handles all logistics, event marketing and evaluates the event's effectiveness. The Event Marketing Specialist II must be able to builds relationships with anyone, including clients and vendors/others involved in the event.


This position reports to the Manager, Marketing.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

  • Conceptualizing, planning, coordinating, and executing multiple end-to-end live and virtual events on schedule, within budget, and with excellent attention to detail.
  • Researching, evaluating, and developing actionable and measurable event marketing strategies for upcoming company-led events and third-party sponsorships.
  • Designing and overseeing all promotional activities before, during, and after campaigns in close partnership with cross-functional teams (brand and design, demand gen, social media, and field marketing).
  • Tracking all activities and assessing outcomes against metrics to gauge event/campaign effectiveness.

  • Develop, manage and execute event communications strategy, including but not limited to website content, social media, email notifications.
  • Setting up, breaking down and managing on-site during private and select in-house events.
  • Coordinating with external vendors and agencies.
  • Traveling to and staffing onsite events domestically and internationally.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment or can operate remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. As a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company, employee must be technically savvy with the ability to use the computer/keyboard to conduct business.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, exempt position with days of work Monday through Friday and with hours scheduled around core hours of operation. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


TRAVEL

Travel up to 25% is expected for this position. If this position is remote and outside the St. Louis area, travel is anticipated 2-4 times per year to stay in touch with team members and the Manager.


REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing or related area.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience working with vendors.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in meeting, event, or trade show planning.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience managing multiple, fast-paced projects.
  • Will travel to support events with the potential to travel to one trade show monthly.
  • Strong organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Must exhibit strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
