Content Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for event planning/management for the Marketing group for events such as in-person trade shows, virtual trade shows, webinars and demos (40%). This position is responsible for writing, producing, and editing content to be used across the full spectrum of marketing communications (40%). The Marketing Specialist also assists with general Marketing projects (20%).

This position works closely with members of the Marketing team, Management team, and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within DataServ to deliver content and events that creates brand awareness, illustrates our value proposition, and effectively educates clients and prospects.

The Marketing Specialist reports to the Manager, Marketing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

Content

  • Manages the content curation process including blogs, social media downloadable website resources, and site copy with emphasis on SEO effectiveness.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of DataServ solutions and value offered to clients and translates this information into marketing content, on-line demos and videos.
  • Serves as the content owner of engaging blogs, video scripts, case studies, and brochures that deliver DataServ subject matter expertise.
  • Composes company news and events including press release writing that focuses on relevancy to DataServ buyers.
  • Supports demand generation activities with appropriate content for targeted personas.
  • Assists Business Development/Sales team draft effective lead nurture campaigns.
  • Stays informed of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Human Resources industry trends and news.

Events

  • Drives interest in DataServ solutions via trade shows, webinars, software demonstrations, and other events.
  • Supports trade shows/speaking engagements with booking, scheduling, planning, coordination, preparation, and follow-up.

Design

  • Assists the Marketing team with basic design work for banner ads, one-pagers iconography, social media posts, eBooks, infographics, and solution set brochures.
  • Mindful of the company's brand including positioning, brand statements, logos, brand elements, and trademarks when creating content.
  • Assist Marketing team with video production of explainer videos and case studies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. As a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company, employee must be technically savvy with the ability to use the computer/keyboard to conduct business.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, exempt position with days of work Monday through Friday and with hours scheduled around core hours of operation. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL

Up to 10% travel is expected for this position to assist with onsite trade shows.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years' experience in Business to Business (B2B) marketing.
  • Experience with basic content design using a variety of tools.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or software related field preferred.
  • Experience with content design tools Adobe Suite, Canva preferred.
  • Experience with video production preferred.
  • Experience with Sales Engagement Platform (SalesLoft) preferred.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to interview SMEs and then develop short and long form content independently.
  • Must exhibit strong written, verbal and listening communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise communications.
  • Exceptional grammar, editing, and proof-reading skills.
  • Willingness to receive feedback on work product yet champion for the best final product.
  • Ability to balance independent work with stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strong advocate for team approach to marketing department success.
  • Ability and desire to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
